Data Analytics is the science of analyzing raw data to make conclusions about that information. It involves applying algorithmic or mechanical processes to derive insights.

The Goal

The primary goal is to increase efficiency and improve performance by discovering patterns in data.

The Challenge

In a Value-First context, the challenge is distinguishing between data and insight.

  • Data is what happened.
  • Analytics is how we organize it.
  • Insight is understanding why it matters.

The Trap

Organizations often fall into the โ€œMeasurement Trap,โ€ collecting vast amounts of data without the capacity to derive meaningful insights or the willingness to act on them. They measure what is easy, not necessarily what is important.

The Approach

Focus on โ€œactionable analyticsโ€โ€”data that leads to clear decisions and improvements in value delivery. Prioritize qualitative feedback alongside quantitative metrics to get a complete picture of reality.
